Our Executive Director

Meet Our Co-Founder, Executive Director

Sonja Kinzer, Executive DirectorAs a bona fide cello mom of more than a decade, I’ve personally seen the value that a classical music education has provided in the development of my young daughter, Nina.  As we moved through each stage at Peabody Preparatory, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University, I realized first hand the impact that such an organization has on the community it shares.  It was our good fortune that when we moved to Northwest Arkansas, we made the acquaintance of two incredible, world- class instructors — Professors Dominic K. Na and Eun Seo Park —  who would subsequently found The Park Na Conservatory of Violin & Cello.  This Conservatory now provides the highest level of classical music instruction, dynamic performance opportunities, and unique musical experiences to the talented youth of Northwest Arkansas.  I’m extremely happy to be able to use my skill set in writing, marketing, and community outreach to advance the goals of this tremendous nonprofit.

What thrills me about this organization is that I now find myself in the business of legacy work, something that feels very special to me. It’s quite beautiful how it all works together. The great institutions like the Special Music School of the St. Petersburg State Conservatory, in Russia and the Konservatorium Wien in Vienna will in part, be available to our students, passed down from the great teachers and master musicians, all the way to our kids and then beyond them, as they set out on their own journey.  It is our organization’s goal to plant them firmly on a path of excellence, drawing from the richness that our Founders’ own internationally acclaimed education and performances have yielded.

Like so many organizations, we have found the need to pivot in order to adapt to such uncertain times.  Accordingly, we have made the decision to open our doors virtually, so that our students may continue receiving advanced instruction.  And, while we cannot say with certainty when we will be able to gather together in person, we are determined to keep  our calendar of performances.  To that end, during this period of social distancing, we will either be broadcasting performances live or we will provide a link to watch pre-recorded performances.    In the face of  these unprecedented challenges of the day, I want to reassure you that The Park Na Conservatory of Violin & Cello is and will remain open for business within our community, and that it will continue working closely alongside our violin and cello families, community partners and donors.   We will continue to keep you abreast of our plans — big and small — in the coming weeks and months.  Stay tuned.
